Eernisse Apartments is our newest completed project, with 26 affordably-priced apartments built in 2007. The project is the first apartment complex in the community built with large families in mind. We have a mix of one, two, and three-bedroom units -- the only three-bedroom apartments on Vashon Island.

Eernisse is home to many families who have been priced out of the sky-rocketing rental market. All of our units are affordable to households that meet the federal definition of “low income," and half are affordable to those considered “very low income." Vashon HouseHold secured permanent rental assistance for residents with the greatest need. This subsidy ensures that 13 of our households will pay no more than 30% of monthly income to rent.

The complex is within walking distance of grocery stores, shops, and bus lines to Tacoma and Seattle destinations. Most apartments have a two-story townhouse design with a private, homey environment. The units have spacious interiors ranging from 720 to 1300 square feet. Other features include front and rear porches, views to wooded open space, generous interior and exterior storage, and open floor plans for efficient use of interior space. Eernisse Apartments is located on 4.3 acres, with seven buildings oriented around a protected woodland area of 1.5 acres.

Eernisse is one of four rental complexes operated by Vashon HouseHold. Our goal is to ensure that residents are provided with quality, stable homes, and that our units and grounds are kept in the best possible condition.
